Lovely Trip to Den Haag

I went to The Hague this weekend. It's the site of the national government of The Netherlands as well as the Queen's palace. The International Court of Justice is also located within this dynamic city. As it was a Saturday and Sunday when my visit took place I couldn't see any of these buildings except from the outside.

I got to see The Girl with the Pearl Earring in person in the Maritushuis. Before coming to The Netherlands I did not know that Vermeer was a Dutchman. I also got to see a couple great paintings by Rembrant, including his last self portrait.

This is what the skyline looked like today.
I went to the beach today, because it was gorgeous out. I'm blinking because I haven't seen this much sun in ages! Here's my friend Jo Lynn. She let me stay at her place last night. We chatted for awhile and watched the dogs and the surf.
These two reminded me of Pepper and Chai. I had to get a photo.
Here are Alex and Paul fooling around outside the Escher Museum.
This is one of my favorite Escher pieces; we were allowed to take photos here, so I did.
